ABOUT THE ROLE – Deck Engineering Coordinator

We are looking for a Deck Engineering Coordinator with strong experience in offshore topside structures and module integration .

The selected candidate will report directly to the Project Manager and will coordinate all engineering activities related to the design, integration, lifting, installation, and commissioning of topside modules or deck structures for offshore platforms, FPSOs, or fixed installations .

The role acts as the key interface between engineering, construction, and marine operations teams to ensure the safe and efficient execution of deck-related activities.


Key Responsibilities

Engineering Coordination

  • Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering activities (structural, mechanical, piping, electrical, and instrumentation) related to topside deck modules or integrated decks .
  • Review and consolidate engineering deliverables such as General Arrangement (GA) drawings, lifting studies, clash detection reports, and 3D models .
  • Ensure design compliance with client specifications, classification society requirements (e.g., ABS, DNV), and applicable standards (API, ISO, ASME).
  • Coordinate deck load-out planning , including grillage and seafastening design, temporary works, and lifting interfaces.


Interface Management

  • Interface with construction, lifting/marine, hook-up, and commissioning teams to ensure proper integration and sequencing of deck activities.
  • Coordinate technical activities with subcontractors, vendors, and fabrication yards related to deck equipment and systems.
  • Align deck design and installation strategies with marine operations and installation constraints (barge or heavy-lift vessel limits, lifting points, center of gravity, etc.).


Construction Support

  • Review the constructability of deck modules , including transport, lifting, and offshore installation considerations.
  • Support and monitor fabrication activities at the yard , resolving engineering queries (TQs, NCRs, etc.) in coordination with discipline engineers.
  • Provide technical support during load-out, transportation, and offshore lifting operations .


Planning & Documentation

  • Participate in the development and monitoring of deck-related schedules, milestones, and progress reports .
  • Maintain technical coordination logs, material take-offs (MTOs), status reports, and engineering documentation .
  • Support the preparation of installation procedures and as-built documentation for project handover.


Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of topside deck engineering design, fabrication, and offshore installation .
  • Familiarity with engineering tools such as AutoCAD, Navisworks, and STAAD Pro .
  • Strong interface management and coordination skills with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Good understanding of offshore lifting operations, marine installation, and construction sequencing .
  • Strong attention to detail with a proactive and safety-oriented approach .


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Structural Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Minimum 8 years of professional experience in the relevant discipline after obtaining the BSc degree.
  • Excellent spoken and written English , with the ability to prepare technical specifications, reports, and documentation .
