Role and Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for database environments, including software installation, database creation, upgrades, patches, problem diagnosis, performance monitoring, database maintenance, process automation, evaluation, and tuning recommendations.
• Develop, implement, and support backup/restore, disaster recovery, and data replication procedures.
• Participate in all phases of the database lifecycle, including implementation of requested database code and configuration changes.
• Interact with IT teams regarding work requests, and participate in the creation of new policies, procedures, projects, and processes.
• Provide on-call 24/7 emergency off-hours support for critical systems requiring database problem resolution and recovery.
• Evaluate, document, and recommend database-related software products within the technical architecture framework.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum 3 years of experience administering and managing large databases in complex enterprise environments.
• In-depth technical skills in SQL Server 2019 and 2022, including system installation, upgrade, server migration, backup and recovery, database maintenance, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and SSIS.
• Extensive knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server, including SQL Replication.
• Strong knowledge of Azure SQL Database / Managed Instance.
• Strong knowledge of T-SQL scripting.
• Experience working with Windows Server (2019, 2022), WSFC, and Active Directory.
