Job Description
The Data Excellence Associate Manager will have a key responsibility to design and execute ad-hoc analysis in specific domains (i.e., In‑Field Teams Activity, Content), with the ultimate goal of delivering a positive impact in the business by supporting Commercial business partners. The Data Excellence Associate Manager is expected to work cross‑functionally with strong business orientation and a highly analytical mindset. A good communicator with natural curiosity and a continuous learning mindset to advance new technical skills and methodologies.
Main responsibilities
- Serve as a leading team member in the Affiliate team, working cross‑functionally to design and execute ad‑hoc analysis in specific domains and be a trusted partner for Affiliate brand teams and leadership.
- Drive the engagement of affiliate stakeholders to define business questions, requirements, timelines, objectives, and success criteria for data analysis initiatives.
- Work closely with Business Technology Solutions (BTS) and CEx WWD team to ensure smooth transition of pilots into production, including technical guidance with respect to replication and scaling, with specific focus on visualizations. Ensure Data Analysis and Visualization components and projects are conducted on time, accurately, within budget, and in accordance with financial and ethical compliance guidelines.
- Collaborate to transform data into business insights that are useful for decision making and strategic planning utilizing complex statistical models and algorithms. Identify the best way to disseminate information through utilization of different tools and visual elements to stakeholders.
- Guide Data Pipeline Development (content checks, preparation, mapping, joining, stitching). Understand and assess data fit and quality, informing and partnering with the local and international data steward to maintain the highest data standards.
- Have a deep understanding of AbbVie data assets and Ontology in Foundry. Define data entities and object requirements and brief the Data Engineering team to create the appropriate environments.
- Oversee, analyze and prepare data to be used by the Data Scientists team. Understand business requirements, utilize data sets of varying degrees of size and complexity to inform the development of Machine Learning algorithms. Be responsible for the rollout of new Call Plan Optimizer (CPO) in new brands/indications in Italy and maintenance of all other existing CPOs.
- Together with other Data Excellence team members, train newcomers on our Analytical Tools (e.g., QlikSense, NGA) mainly focused on In‑Field Team and Commercial Headquarter colleagues.
- Act as local champion of international use cases like ACE Pulse, Content Dashboard.
- Actively represent Italy in the International CEx WWD Community.
Qualifications
- A relevant bachelor’s degree in operations research, computer science, data engineering, data science, mathematics, statistics, or economics. A Master’s degree or MBA will be a plus.
- Fluency in English (written & spoken).
- Minimum 3‑5 years working in business analytics, data analytics, market research, data engineering, or data science roles.
- Analytical reasoning abilities, intellectual curiosity, business acumen, and creativity in problem solving. Strong communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization, including affiliate GMs.
- Ability to adapt to changing business conditions, collaborate across functional groups, and contribute to a productive work culture. Lead strategically and create trust and respect within the department.
- Experience in analyzing and drawing insights from key internally generated and external data sets. Proficiency in exploratory data analysis with advanced tools and processes in multiple environments.)
- Ability to define use cases and develop high‑quality visualizations to provide excellent user experience. Foundry‑related skills and experience (desired), including data preparation, pipeline development, and visualization using Foundry Apps (monocle, forms, workshop, slate, etc.).
