Data Engineer / Data Consultant (Azure)

We’re looking for a consultative Data Engineer / Data Consultant to join an international data program, working closely with business stakeholders and data SMEs — not a pure developer role .
Location: Milan (hybrid – 2 to 3 days on-site)
This role is about collaboration, communication, and problem-solving , not coding in isolation.
You’ll work closely with data SMEs and business teams , helping them shape, structure, and deliver data solutions.
- Act as a bridge between business and data teams
- Work closely with data SMEs , supporting and guiding them
- Design and structure data flows on Azure (Databricks, Data Factory, Synapse, Fabric)
- Translate business needs into data models and pipelines
- Support data quality, governance, and reporting (Power BI / Fabric)
- Contribute to low-code / automation initiatives where relevant (not core focus)
- 2+ years’ experience in Data Engineering or Data Consulting
- Strong experience with the Azure data stack
- Solid SQL and good understanding of Python (hands-on but not heavy coding)
- Consultancy mindset : stakeholder-facing, communicative, pragmatic
- Comfortable working on-site with clients
- Based in or near Milan
