About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer to join a long-term project with a multinational financial services company. You will work on building and optimising data pipelines on Databricks, helping to process and transform large-scale datasets into actionable insights. This role is fully remote and offers the chance to contribute to one of the most ambitious data initiatives in Europe.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain ETL pipelines in Databricks using SQL and PySpark.
- Transform and analyse large datasets to support advanced reporting and analytics.
- Apply data science techniques (e.g., clustering, classification, dimensionality reduction) where required to extract business insights.
- Automate workflows and data pipelines using Apache Airflow to improve efficiency.
- Collaborate with project managers and business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver fit-for-purpose solutions.
- Use GitLab for version control, ensuring clean, reusable, and well-documented code.
Skills & Experience
- Proficiency with Databricks, PySpark, and SQL.
- Hands-on experience with Apache Airflow for scheduling and orchestration.
- Strong programming skills in Python (R is a plus).
- Familiarity with Azure cloud environments and big data ecosystems.
- Understanding of machine learning concepts (e.g., clustering, PCA, Random Forests).
- Experience with GitLab/GitHub version control.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with stakeholders.
- Fluent Italian.
