Overview Of The Role

Salesforce is seeking a Data Cloud & Marketing Cloud Technical Architect to join the Professional Services team within the Customer Success Group (CSG). This role focuses on being a Data subject matter expert, leading the design and implementation of enterprise-grade Data Management solutions. While Data Cloud (Data 360) expertise is essential, the ideal candidate will also have a strong Salesforce Marketing Cloud background to drive cross-cloud success.

The Technical Architect will design scalable solutions across enterprise landscapes, ensure data is democratized and ready for enterprise AI usage, and work with Project Managers and Technical Architects to ensure on-time, fully functioning integrations. The candidate should thrive in an entrepreneurial environment, communicate effectively with business operations, and design, test, and deploy complex software solutions. Fluency in English and Italian is required.

What You’ll Do / Responsibilities

• Become a trusted SME for Data Cloud to support project delivery, including data architecture considerations related to Agentforce and AI.
• Drive the creation of application and technical design documents (Blueprints/FSD) leveraging Salesforce best practices and integrating Salesforce into the customer’s infrastructure.
• Design and guide the customer's enterprise data architecture, emphasizing Data Governance and ensuring solutions comply with security and privacy regulations.
• Provide guidance on integration development best practices, Enterprise Architecture standards, and environment management. Lead code reviews and define coding standards (SQL, SSJS, AMPScript).
• Facilitate and influence Executive Customer stakeholders while aligning technology strategy to business value and ROI.
• Troubleshoot key customer implementation issues and drive to successful resolutions through proactive risk management.

Required Qualifications

• Data Cloud Expertise: Direct experience designing and configuring the Data Cloud (Data 360) platform for enterprise use cases (Ingestion, Unified Profile, Insights, Activation).
• Architectural Proficiency: Deep knowledge in MDM, Data Distribution, and Data Modeling concepts, with understanding of metadata and lineage.
• Solution Documentation: Ability to clearly document solutions, including data flows, engineering flowcharts, and technical artifacts.
• Requirement Translation: Ability to create a solution from client requirements and map business processes to our technical product suite (e.g., mapping Data Cloud DMOs to Marketing Cloud Data Extensions).
• Cross-Cloud Integration: Knowledge of API patterns (REST/SOAP) and experience integrating Salesforce with different systems (ETL, CRM, Data Lakes).
• Technical Leadership: Lead inter-team meetings on technical and business challenges; conduct solutions testing and validation.
• Language Skills: Proficiency in English and Italian is mandatory.
• Mobility: Willingness to travel to client sites for onsite discovery and solutions presentations (estimated 25%–50%).
• Education: Degree or equivalent relevant experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Marketing Cloud Mastery: 2+ years of direct experience in Salesforce Marketing Cloud (Email Studio, Journey Builder, Automation Studio). Knowledge of AMPScript and SSJS is a plus.
• AI & Personalization: Familiarity with Agentforce Marketing and Marketing Cloud Personalization (formerly Interaction Studio).
• Strategic Communication: Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills, able to present concepts at tactical and executive levels.
• Data Background: 10+ years in data architecture or consulting, with focus on relational data models and complex SQL.
• Ecosystem Knowledge: Familiarity with external Data Platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, AWS, GCP) and domains like Finance, Telco, or Retail.
• Certifications: Salesforce Certified Data Cloud Consultant preferred or required; additional certifications such as Salesforce Certified Data Architect, Marketing Cloud Email Specialist, and Marketing Cloud Consultant are a plus.
• Adaptability: Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and adapt as the team scales.
