Job Title
IT PROJECT MANAGER – FINANCIAL SERVICES
About the role GFT Italia is looking for a Project Manager for projects related to financial services, collaborating to improve service effectiveness, design new processes and solutions, adopting best practice, and guiding colleagues toward achieving objectives. Candidates should have experience managing core projects in the banking and/or insurance domain.
Responsibilities
Plan time management ensuring delivery on budget, on schedule, and on quality by setting and monitoring project plans.
Control costs, manage suppliers, and handle all economic/financial aspects of the project.
Analyse, monitor, and manage project risks.
Govern project documentation.
Conduct meetings with client management to provide progress updates.
Collaborate internally with Client Managers, supporting pre‑sales activities, preparing bids, presenting the company, and offering to potential new clients.
Assess impacts and estimate effort (time and cost) for new projects.
Coordinate delivery team activities, ensuring functional and technical consistency of proposed and implemented solutions.
Coordinate the analysis, design, and implementation of complex applications.
Support design and selection of technology choices, considering the application context.
Qualifications
8‑10 years of experience in consulting firms.
Project experience in PMO/PM roles within financial contexts.
Ability to manage large IT projects.
Project budget management and scheduling according to priorities agreed with senior leadership, reporting, and change request handling.
Reporting to senior management on project and initiative performance.
Preparation of project documentation and analyses, coordinated with other business functions.
Maintenance of project documentation (business requirements, kickoff, SAL, work plans).
Fluent written and spoken English.
Proficiency with remote work, virtual teams, and remote team building.
Availability for travel within Italy.
Deep knowledge of major project management methodologies (Waterfall or Agile).
Strong organizational skills and focus on results.
Teamwork in an international context.
Nice to have
PM certifications (PMI, Prince2).
Degree in Engineering (Computer Engineering, Management) or Economics.
