ROLE DESCRIPTION
Zoetis Southern Europe is seeking a results-driven Data Analytics Specialist to join our Business Analytics team. This role will be in charge of collecting and processing large datasets to uncover valuable insights that drive business decisions. This role involves using ETL tools, statistical methods, Machine Learning and data visualization techniques to interpret complex data and present findings to stakeholders.
This position is Rome based (hybrid - schedule)
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Data Engineering & Quality
- Design and maintain automated data pipelines (ETL/ELT) from diverse internal and external sources
- Implement robust data validation, monitoring, and documentation to ensure high data quality and lineage
- Analytics & Modeling
- Apply statistical analysis and machine learning to identify trends, segments, forecasts, and drivers of performance
- Build reproducible analytical assets with clear versioning and governance
- Artificial Intellogence (AI)
- Identify and deliver high-impact AI use cases, integrating model outputs into workflows and dashboards with clear KPIs and explainability
- Build and operationalize ML models, ensuring Responsible AI practices
- Visualization & Insight Communication
- Develop dynamic, user-centric dashboards and reports; optimize and integrate existing assets for clarity and performance
- Translate analytics into concise, business-ready narratives and recommendations for stakeholders
- Performance Management
- Automate target-setting, KPIs, and monitoring workflows
- Collaboration & Stakeholder Enablement
- Partner with Business Units, Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Customer Care to deliver data-driven solutions
- Support ad‑hoc deep dives and decision forums with timely, accurate analyses
- Continuous Improvement & Governance
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes, enhance scalability, and enforce data/analytics best practices
- Contribute to data governance, integration, security, and compliance standards
KEY SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s or master’s in data science, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 3-5 years in analytics, BI, or data engineering roles; experience in commercial/retail/pharma or animal health is a plus.
- Proficiency:
- Databases & languages: SQL, Python or R
- ETL/ELT & orchestration: Azure Data Factory and Knime/Alteryx; building and monitoring production pipelines
- Cloud data platforms: hands‑on with Azure SQL and modern analytical stores (cloud data warehouse / lakehouse)
- Dashboards: Power BI; DAX and dashboard performance optimization
- Strong grasp of statistics and ML fundamentals
- Excellent communication skills; able to convert complex analyses into clear business actions.
- Native Italian, Proficiency in English. Spanish is a plus
