Overview

RINA is currently recruiting for a Cybersecurity Engineering Project Manager to join its office in Genoa, Rome or Rozzano (Italy) within the Aerospace & Defence Division.

Mission

A Cybersecurity Engineering Project Manager is responsible for technically acquiring and leading complex projects, overseeing project teams, and acting as a key contact and coordinator between the business development, cybersecurity experts, and subcontractors to ensure successful project completion. This role focuses on high-value projects, ensuring delivery aligns with company objectives and timelines.

Key Accountabilities

  • Business Development and Pre-Sales:
    • Support ore definition of strategic cybersecurity technological partnerships
    • Translate of customer needs in consulting services (regulatory compliance, cyber security solution design and in-service management) and/or licensing solutions
    • Consult with technical departments in the estimation of effort
  • Project Execution:
    • Define project objectives, scope, and deliverables, creating a roadmap for successful project execution
    • Manage resources, timelines to maintain alignment with project goals
  • Resource Management:
    • Engage with department leads to ensure resources are available when needed
    • Engage technology partners for license acquisition
  • Client and Stakeholder Communication:
    • Serve as a contact for client communication, managing expectations and building trust
    • Act as a liaison between project teams and senior leadership, facilitating information flow and alignment
  • Financial Oversight:
    • Control project budgets, analyzing financial performance and adjusting spending as required.
    • Prepare financial reports and projections, ensuring leadership is aware of budget impacts.
    • Identify financial risks and opportunities, proactively managing costs to maintain profitability
  • Risk and Quality Management:
    • Oversee risk management processes, identifying, prioritizing, and addressing risks.
    • Ensure quality standards are met by establishing control measures and conducting regular checks
    • Lead root cause analysis for any project issues, implementing corrective actions where necessary

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Cyber Security or Computer Engineering

Qualifications

Hard Skills

  • 3-5 years of experience in cybersecurity with a technical sales role within a project setting, ideally with exposure to cross-functional teamwork.
  • Specific experience in managing cybersecurity technologies partners. Knowledge of Tenable and Splunk technologies is preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of security services (Governance, Risk & Compliance, Vulnerability Management, SOC/SIEM).
  • Familiarity with standards such as ISO 27001, NIST, IEC 62443, and regulations.
  • Professional project management certifications are highly desirable (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2 Practitioner, or similar).
  • Good understanding of project lifecycle management, including requirements gathering, risk management, quality control, and change management.
  • Fluent in Italian and highly proficient in English.

Soft Skills

  • Ability to effectively manage resources and budget, as well as progress reporting.
  • Ability to translate technical requirements into business benefits for the customer.
  • Ability to move easily between technical sales and project management.
  • Proficiency with contracts, client management, and vendor relations. Technical negotiation skills with both vendors and end customers.
