AWS Infrastructure Services designs, plans, delivers, and operates AWS global infrastructure, supporting data centers and all associated equipment to keep the cloud running.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Provide full life‑cycle support to AWS Data Centers from design inception through site improvement and maintenance.
• Act as the technical expert for your region and offer guidance on troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective action documentation.
• Support operational issues through ad‑hoc training, procedure review, and event support.
• Own conceptual design for existing data‑center upgrades, capacity expansions, and efficiency improvements.
• Interface with operations, design engineering, hardware, and safety teams to maintain consistency and reliability.
• Develop innovative solutions for AWS data centers.
• Manage concurrent projects across multiple regions and lead engineering audits, producing risk reports and recommendations.
• Serve as resident engineer during new construction projects, supporting construction, commissioning, and turnover.

A Day in the Life

You will coordinate with cross‑functional teams to prioritize activities that impact data‑center availability and safety, balancing local and global projects while occasionally traveling to field sites.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 3+ cumulative years of experience with industrial, municipal, or commercial engineering in sectors such as data centers, power generation, or oil & gas facilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Understanding of mechanical and electrical equipment/design for data centers, including UPS, generators, switchgear, power distribution, drives, transfer switches, chillers, pumps, cooling towers, and related systems.
• Experience in the design, construction, operation, or maintenance of mission‑critical facilities, especially data centers.
• Experience as a resident engineer or field‑based design consultant/owner’s engineer.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, submittal documents, and applicable building codes.
• Experience driving design concepts through exploration, development, and deployment into production.
• Data analytics and scripting skills; comfortable working with large data sets.
• Strong engineering judgment, communication, problem‑solving, and leadership skills.
• Detail‑oriented, adaptable, and willing to perform field work.

Base salary range: USD 116,800.00 – 160,000.00 annually (USA, TX, Wink). Additional compensation includes sign‑on payments, RSUs, and comprehensive benefits such as health, dental, vision, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave.
