About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and hands‑on Critical Facility Manager – Italy to lead the local Critical Facility Team and ensure the continuous, efficient operation of our data centre environments 24/7/365 .

This role holds full day‑to‑day operational responsibility for a campus or site, ensuring all equipment, infrastructure, and systems are maintained to the highest standards to consistently meet customer SLA commitments. You will combine strong technical expertise with leadership capabilities to drive operational excellence and team performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the assigned data centre campus/site
• Ensure all scheduled maintenance activities are completed on time and to standard
• Manage and respond to technical alarms and operational incidents, ensuring proper documentation
• Coordinate internal teams, contractors, and external vendors
• Identify and drive continuous operational improvementsSupport and oversee projects in a live operational environment
• Ensure all operational documentation is accurate, up to date, and properly stored
• Provide regular site status updates for reporting and audits
• Contribute to annual budget planning and supplier evaluations
• Manage service contracts and ensure delivery against contractual obligations
• Drive energy efficiency initiatives and performance targets
• Lead, coach, and develop the Critical Facility Team
• Ensure the team is properly structured, skilled, and equipped
• Maintain compliant shift and on‑call schedules
• Ensure all work is documented according to company standards
• Oversee training, certifications, and competency development of team members
• Ensure Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) is effectively planned and executed
• Ensure full compliance with management systems, policies, and procedures

Job Practicalities

• Primarily based at a designated data centre campus
• Flexibility required to support multiple sites when needed
• May be required to step in as a Critical Facility Technician during absences
• Occasional shift or on‑call work may be required

Skills & Experience

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in Data Centre operations or 7 years in a similar critical environment
• Strong technical background in Mechanical and Electrical systems
• Minimum 2 years’ experience with electrical systems in critical environments (or 5 years with general electrical systems)
• Proven leadership and people management experience
• Strong decision‑making ability under pressure
• Excellent problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills
• Experience managing suppliers, contracts, and operational performance
• Strong understanding of ISO Management Systems and compliance requirements
• High focus on safety, environmental standards, and operational excellence
• Strong IT and systems skills

Education & Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related discipline
• Responsabile Tecnico (Electrical Compliance Officer) for assigned site(s)
• Relevant leadership or technical training is an advantage
• Fluent in English and Italian
• Strong communication and organisational skills
