The primary purpose of the Country Manager role in Italy is to strategically manage, lead, and coordinate multiple Professional Scientific Services (PSS) teams and their on-site leaders to ensure that our teams, located at our clients’ sites, operate at the highest quality and productivity standards.
The Country Manager will be the key point of contact for our clients from an operational management perspective and a key liaison with Senior Management in Italy and peers across Europe.
This role will be responsible for the Profit & Loss (P&L) management of the Italian PSS Business Unit, including contributing to the budget process.
Additionally, this position will actively participate in business development activities for existing and new businesses, driving growth across Italy.
This position combines strategic planning, operational excellence, client relationship management, and leadership, utilizing HR best practices.
This is a remote position involving frequent travel (60-70% of working time). The Country Manager reports directly to the Managing Director.
Qualifications
- Education : A degree in a related scientific discipline (e.g., life sciences, engineering, quality) is required; additional qualifications in business are an advantage.
- Experience : At least 5 years of operational experience with management responsibilities.
- Skills / knowledge : Sound knowledge of processes and requirements within the life science or pharmaceutical industries (e.g., quality standards, GMP environment).
- Business development and client relationship management skills.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Financial / P&L acumen.
- Team player, proactive, organized, and flexible.
- Languages : Fluent in both Italian and English.
