At Stellantis, Cost Engineering plays a strategic role in the creation of future vehicles — from early concept to serial production. As we accelerate electrification, software‑defined vehicle development, and innovative manufacturing processes, we are expanding our team with Cost Engineers eager to make a measurable impact.

You will join a global community of technical experts and help ensure our components and systems remain competitive, innovative, and optimized across multiple brands and platforms.


Your Mission

You will develop accurate and transparent cost estimates for components and tooling across multiple vehicle domains (Body, Interior, Chassis, Engine Adaptation, Electrical Components & Systems, Powertrain). Working hands‑on with bills of material, drawings, and real part samples, you will analyze manufacturing processes and provide fact‑based guidance that supports technical decisions and supplier negotiations.

This role offers visibility, cross‑functional collaboration, and direct influence on the design and cost structure of Stellantis vehicles.


Key Deliverables

Develop component cost estimates for new programs, including:

  • Early‑phase cost engineering estimates
  • Detailed “should‑cost” calculations using a bottom‑up manufacturing approach

Provide idea generation and cost support during vehicle development to help achieve cost targets (Design‑to‑Cost)

Support purchasing during supplier negotiations by completing gap analyses of supplier cost breakdowns (Piece Price, ED&D, Tooling)

Contribute to benchmarking and value optimization activities, including serial life should‑cost assessments

Collaborate closely with internal global team, Engineering, Buyers, and Suppliers

Provide global cost comparison analysis in partnership with the broader Cost Engineering community


Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the automotive industry or related technical field
  • Strong English and Italian verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage a high volume of parts with diverse complexity levels
  • Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
  • Ability to work effectively across multiple organizational levels, functions, and global regions


Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with cost model structures and activity‑based costing
  • Experience in one or more of the following:
  • Design Responsible Engineering
  • Manufacturing
  • Component Tool Development
  • Component Purchasing
  • Curiosity, agility, and collaborative mindset in a fast‑paced, global environment
