Cost and Materials Manager

We are seeking an experienced Cost and Materials Manager to shape the future with us. Based in Milan within the Purchasing area of the Transmission Division, reporting directly to the Cost and Materials Director, the candidate will have the following responsibilities :

  • Participate in the bidding process : Provide accurate raw material costs during tender phases, attend tender kick-off meetings, and coordinate with relevant functions to understand project details and implications on raw material sourcing (e.g., local content, price indexation, sustainability, preliminary vs. final offers).
  • Market analysis and cost definition : Collaborate with Corporate Procurement to understand market trends and expected prices, and define the correct cost for each raw material in specific tenders.
  • Volume monitoring and planning : Identify and monitor upcoming volumes for main raw materials to address constraints promptly and ensure material availability and competitiveness in medium and long-term planning.
  • Project leadership : Lead projects related to materials and suppliers, coordinate cross-functional activities, propose solutions, and escalate decisions appropriately.

Qualifications :

  • Business or Engineering background
  • Solid experience as Buyer / Commodity Manager in a structured international organization
  • Knowledge of technical fundamentals related to materials (mechanical, chemical, electrical)
  • Experience in leading projects and coordinating functions such as R&D, Sustainability, and production plants
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills
  • Proactive, curious, results-driven, and capable of managing complexity
  • Excellent team-building abilities
  • Fluent in English
  • Willingness to travel up to 20%
