Description


The Corporate Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) team is predominantly responsible for offices managed by the Global Real Estate and Facilities (GREF) function, while also taking responsibility for non-operations sites and subsidiaries as required. We are hiring an EHS Manager for our corporate offices in Italy and Morocco. The successful candidate will be an experienced, innovative, hands‑on and customer‑obsessed individual passionate about EHS, who can identify, coordinate and drive improvements by engaging stakeholders. The role reports directly to the EHS Manager, EHS Mgr-Western Europe, but will work autonomously, as the manager will not be based in the same location. The EHS Manager will design and implement global, regional and local EHS policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with all applicable local and regional regulations. This role will lead continuous‑improvement initiatives to reduce risk and ensure a safe and healthy working environment for Amazon Corporate employees.



Key Job Responsibilities



  • Possess and update a thorough understanding of local/regional regulations.

  • Provide EHS guidance and oversight to ensure compliance with all applicable Amazon EHS Policies and legal requirements.

  • Mentor and support other EHS team members.

  • Ensure the delivery of EHS performance in line with personal, team and functional goals and objectives, facilitating and/or arranging training programs on critical EHS issues.

  • Analyse EHS metrics weekly and monthly to discover trends and rationalise the allocation of resources to areas where the EHS risk is highest.

  • Develop and implement EHS programmes to constantly improve EHS culture within corporate offices.

  • Conduct regular site visits to identify hazards, non‑compliance and to improve controls.

  • Implement solutions to eliminate exposure to these risks and prevent injury.

  • Support the EHS Manager-EMEA to deliver EHS strategic improvements.

  • Carry out EHS risk assessment activities.

  • Deliver EHS-related training.

  • Cooperate with local environmental authorities and H&S agencies.

  • Investigate EHS-related incidents, and support vendors in their risk assessment activities; complete internal and external incident reports.

  • Establish internal assessment/audit processes aligned to global and regional strategic objectives.

  • Prepare responses to insurers/lawyers in response to personal injury claims received.

  • Ensure that site leadership and Associates are trained and knowledgeable on their EHS responsibilities.

  • Arrange, facilitate and contribute to worker consultation and participation; e.g. EHS committee meetings.

  • Contribute to reducing environmental impacts and maintain a sustainable approach for corporate office activities.

  • Assist the EHS Manager-EMEA in preparing the EHS budget for their scope.



Basic Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental or Civil Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety or a related field.

  • RSPP certification and skills according to article 32 of Legislative Decree 81/08.

  • Previous experience in RSPP roles.

  • Proficiency in English, with strong written and verbal communication skills and native Italian.

  • In-depth knowledge of local, state and federal EHS regulations and standards.

  • Experience in incident investigation and root cause analysis.

  • Availability to travel regularly to other locations in EMEA as required.



Preferred Qualifications



  • Leadership skills to influence and drive a culture of safety.

  • Possession of EHS trainer requirements.

  • Expertise in Fire Safety engineering experience with relevant management systems.

  • Relevant experience of communicating with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
