DIGI Italy , a leading multinational telecommunications company operating in five European countries , is looking for a Core Network Engineer to join its growing team.
You will contribute to the operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the mobile core network, supporting both customer-facing services and internal network activities to ensure service quality, reliability, and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Ticket Management
- Troubleshoot and resolve customer issues related to voice and data services reported through Customer Care and Call Center channels.
- Perform root-cause analysis and ensure timely issue resolution in accordance with service quality standards.
Network Integration & Testing
- Execute integration and acceptance tests to validate the correct functionality of network elements before deployment into the production network.
- Collaborate with Network Engineering teams to identify, analyze, and resolve technical issues detected during testing activities.
- Perform interconnection testing with carriers and mobile operators to ensure the proper handling of voice and data traffic.
Network Monitoring & Operations
- Monitor network KPIs and performance indicators to ensure optimal network operation and service availability.
- Investigate network anomalies and implement corrective actions to maintain service quality and operational efficiency.
Device Certification
- Validate the functionality and compatibility of mobile devices, new commercial offers, and value-added services.
- Support testing activities related to terminal certification and service launches.
SIM Provisioning & Management
- Configure and manage tariff profiles and subscriber settings.
- Handle SIM lifecycle management activities, including activation, suspension, blocking/unblocking, and related operational tasks.
Technical Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Telecommunications Engineering or a related field.
- Knowledge of 2G–4G Core Network architectures and elements , including HLR/HSS, VLR, MSS, SCP (OCS), and IMS.
- Basic understanding of GSM, UMTS, and LTE mobile network architectures .
- Basic knowledge of mobile network protocols, with a particular focus on Core Network technologies.
- Good proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and Windows-based environments.
- Good command of the English language, both written and spoken.
- Availability for on-call duty and occasional night-time activities when required.
