Contracts Manager (Data Center) - Italy (Milan)
A well-established engineering consulting firm is looking for a Contracts Manager for a Data Center project in the Milan area. This will be a 6-12 month project and would see you delivering contract management services for one of their major projects.
Responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing the management of building contracts
- Carrying out regular site inspections to track progress and ensure quality standards are met, coordinating with the main contractor and other project contractors
- Providing contractual advice on potential variations, cost impacts, project risks, and utility considerations
- Reviewing and negotiating the final accounts with the contractor, and securing client approval for any agreed changes
- Managing and monitoring the resolution of claims in collaboration with the wider project team
- Evaluating and advising on contractors’ entitlement to extensions of time, including detailed review of submitted applications
- Preparing supporting documentation and providing contractual input for formal dispute resolution proceedings
- Maintaining robust document control systems, ensuring all project records and correspondence are accurate and accessible to stakeholders
- Producing regular reports on contractual issues and overall project performance
- Attending and contributing to weekly and monthly meetings with internal teams and external stakeholders
Candidate profile:
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a similar role
- Strong command of English (B2/C1 level) and a good working knowledge of Italian (B1/B2 level).
- Proven knowledge of FIDIC contracts is essential
- A degree in Engineering is highly desirable
- Previous experience in the data center sector would be a significant advantage
- Must be able to travel independently
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Regular on-site presence is required; projects are located in the Milan metropolitan area
