Job Purpose :

To manage the day-to-day office operations – import, exports, transportation (both domestic and international). The aim is to ensure all shipments are efficiently processed, recovered, and dispatched on time to meet customer schedules. The role includes managing operational employees, from performance to personnel files, establishing relationships with subcontractors, handling facilities, and maintaining communication with other departments within the country and internationally.

Main Duties And Responsibilities

  • Report to the Regional Director, responsible for managing the (Country) Operations function.
  • Improve staff cross-training and development.
  • Reduce fixed costs and increase gross margin through solutions like establishing cost-efficient routes and negotiating with providers, while controlling facility/utilities costs.
  • Enhance the effectiveness of Support Services (OPS, CS, HR, IT, Finance) through operational improvements and coordination.
  • Participate in long-term planning aimed at operational excellence.
  • Oversee operational management, systems, and controls.
  • Manage the operational budget in coordination with the Regional Director.
  • Manage external agencies relevant to (Country) operations.
  • Improve operational systems, processes, and policies to support organizational goals, including management reporting and organizational planning.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Operations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaborative management skills.
  • Experience in budget development and oversight.
  • Commercial awareness.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, strategic planning, resource management, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective people management and openness to direction.
  • Commitment to completing tasks.
  • Ability to debate issues constructively and view situations from multiple perspectives.
  • Effective delegation skills.
  • Leadership experience in managing staff and projects.
  • High professional ethical standards and commitment to diversity.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and Access.
  • Knowledge of international compliance and security regulations.
