We are looking for a Construction Manager
Role Description
We are seeking a Construction Manager to oversee the execution of photovoltaic (PV) projects in Italy, with a primary focus on electrical and mechanical works.
S/he will be responsible for the overall site management, coordination, and technical supervision of construction activities, ensuring that all works are executed in accordance with approved designs, technical specifications, contractual requirements, and project timelines.
This role combines technical oversight with hands-on site leadership, ensuring efficient execution, effective resource utilization, and high-quality project delivery, and seamless coordination between internal teams, subcontractors, and clients within a demanding construction environment.
Key Responsibilities
Construction Supervision & Execution
- Oversee the full technical supervision, organization, and coordination of construction activities on site, ensuring compliance with approved designs, drawings, and technical specifications.
- Provide immediate technical and engineering support on site, resolving issues arising during execution and guiding teams on construction methodologies.
- Coordinate with engineering teams for design clarifications, revisions, and proper implementation of updated drawings and approved changes.
Site Management & Coordination
- Manage daily site operations, including coordination of workforce, subcontractors, and activities across all disciplines.
- Allocate responsibilities, monitor execution progress, and ensure adherence to project schedules and quality standards.
- Monitor material availability and coordinate with procurement and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery to site.
HSE, Quality Control & Compliance
- Ensure all works are performed in compliance with contractual requirements, technical specifications, and applicable regulations.
- Identify deviations early and implement corrective actions to maintain project alignment.
- Ensure full compliance with HSE requirements, company policies, and local regulations, promoting a strong safety culture on site.
Planning, Progress Monitoring & Reporting
- Monitor project progress against the approved schedule and assess productivity of teams and subcontractors.
- Provide timely and structured reporting to the Project Management team regarding progress, risks, delays, and site needs.
- Proactively escalate any issues that may impact project delivery.
Resource & Cost Control
- Monitor and manage site-related resources to ensure efficient utilization and alignment with the project budget.
- Support cost control efforts by identifying inefficiencies and proposing optimization actions.
- Support the identification of variations, delays, and potential claims by providing necessary site input and documentation.
Client & Stakeholder Communication
- Act as the main technical point of contact on site for construction-related matters with the client, in coordination with company management.
- Ensure clear, professional, and structured communication with all stakeholders.
Documentation & Project Close-Out
- Ensure proper site documentation, including daily reports, site records, and progress tracking.
- Maintain accurate as-built documentation in coordination with engineering teams.
- Support testing, commissioning, and project handover processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field
- A Master’s degree in a relevant field will be considered an asset
- Minimum 5–7 years of experience in construction site management, ideally in photovoltaic or energy projects
- Proven experience in electrical and/or mechanical works execution
- Strong understanding of construction processes, technical drawings, and site operations
- Experience managing subcontractors and multidisciplinary teams
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Proactive, hands-on, and results-oriented mindset
- Fluency in English is required; knowledge of Italian will be considered a strong asset
- Willingness to be based on site in Italy
