Construction Director | Utility-Scale Renewables
Location: Europe (multi-country remit)
Salary: Competitive + bonus + LTIP
A fast-growing international renewable energy platform is looking to appoint a Construction Director to lead delivery across a multi-country portfolio of utility-scale projects. With a strong pipeline spanning solar PV, storage, and hybrid assets, this business is scaling quickly across Europe—combining in-house development, financing, and long-term asset ownership.
This is a senior leadership role with full responsibility for construction strategy and execution, overseeing multiple projects simultaneously and building a high-performing regional delivery function.
The Role
You’ll take ownership of construction activities from late-stage development through to commissioning, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget. Acting as a key interface between internal teams and external partners, you’ll drive consistency, governance, and best practice across all sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead construction delivery across multiple countries and project portfolios
- Define and implement construction strategy, processes, and standards
- Oversee EPC contractors, consultants, and key suppliers
- Ensure HSE compliance and promote a strong safety culture across all sites
- Manage budgets, schedules, risks, and reporting to senior leadership
- Support procurement and contract negotiation (EPC, BoP, key packages)
- Build and lead a regional construction team as the pipeline scales
- Collaborate closely with development, engineering, and asset management teams
Key Requirements
- Proven experience delivering utility-scale renewable energy projects (solar, BESS, or wind)
- Strong track record managing EPC contractors and multi-country projects
- Experience in both construction execution and pre-construction/tender phases
- Solid commercial awareness and contract management experience
- Leadership experience, with the ability to build and scale teams
- Willingness to travel across Europe as required
