Hiring: Nokia RAN Engineer (Freelancer)

Location – Hybrid / Ivrea / Turin

Contract type- Freelancing

Language- Italian(C1), English(B2)


Must be based in Italy – No sponsorship available


We are looking for a Nokia RAN Engineer with experience in 2G/3G/4G/5G networks. This is a freelance role with on‑site activities in Ivrea (Turin) and hybrid working flexibility.


The role focuses on designing, testing, and optimizing Nokia radio features to improve network performance and support the evolution of multi‑technology mobile networks.


What You Will Do

  • Study and design new Nokia Radio features based on the vendor roadmap
  • Plan and execute FOA (First Office Application) activities
  • Analyze counters, update KPIs, and define performance guidelines
  • Perform drive tests and analyze results
  • Optimize voice and data performance across all technologies
  • Monitor network KPIs and create operational guidelines
  • Prepare configuration templates and support EdenNet optimization modules
  • Design interfaces for BSC, RNC, and access networks (Abis, IuB, S1, X2)
  • Support multi‑technology RAN feature configuration and integration
  • Work on hardware layouts for BSC and RNC
  • Contribute to MPN (Mobile Private Network) architecture design


Technologies You’ll Work With

  • Nokia BSC: AirScaleBSC, 2i, 3i, FlexiBSC
  • Nokia RNC: RNC195, RNC2600, mcRNC
  • Nokia Radio Nodes: ESMB/C, FSME, FSMF, AirScale, ASOE, FlexiZone, Flexi Lite
  • Multi‑RAT: 2G / 3G / 4G / 5G
  • Interfaces: Abis, IuB, S1, X2


What We’re Looking For

  • 3–5 years of experience in Nokia RAN
  • Strong understanding of Nokia Radio feature design
  • Experience with KPI analysis and performance optimization
  • Knowledge of BSC/RNC architecture and hardware design
  • English B2 (technical communication)
  • Italian C1 preferred
