The Company
The company headquarters is located in Bolzano, Northern Italy, at the plant formerly owned by Lancia, a renowned manufacturer of industrial vehicles founded in 1937 and incorporated into the Iveco Group in 1975.
Iveco Defence Vehicles boasts an independent internal structure entirely dedicated to research and development, with full access to the company’s extensive engineering resources.
The Position
IDV is looking for an enthusiastic Concept Engineer to join CD&P team in the development of innovative vehicles and technologies both in the field of wheeled and tracked defence land platforms.
In this role, you will be challenged by:
- Scouting the market for competitors, partners and state‑of‑the‑art technologies;
- Analysing and choosing applicable standards;
- Defining the technical solutions (components, architectures, controls, etc.) to satisfy the requirements supported by internal and external resources;
- Defining the validation plan and procedures of the new components/systems;
- Taking part in the field test campaigns of the components and/or systems supporting the Test Engineer in all the phases;
- Verifying the adequacy of the technical solutions through techniques such as DFMEA, FTA, or similar, ensuring compliance with company and/or defence standards;
- Coordinating and managing the internal/external resources dedicated to the project;
- Defining and managing the project budget and plan;
- Reporting the project status to the management.
Skills Required
- Master’s degree in Automotive/Mechanical Engineering
- At least 2 years (5 years preferred) of experience in the automotive industry within design/development departments
- Good understanding of technical documentation (Mechanical/electrical/hydraulic schemes and drawings)
- Knowledge and understanding of Bill of Materials
- Knowledge of automotive HW/SW systems
- Knowledge/experience in the design/concept of vehicle electrification
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Very good spoken and written English (at least C level)
- Availability for frequent national and international business trips for limited periods
- Knowledge of automotive/defence standards (preferred)
- Knowledge of simulation software suites such as Ansys, Maple, Siemens PLM (preferred)
- Knowledge in the analysis of system safety and robustness of automotive systems through procedures like FMEA, FMECA, FTA (preferred)
- Knowledge of IBM DOORS (preferred)
