Overview: Compressors & Steam Turbines Specialist with extensive related experience and strong technical skills in Rotating Equipment, with a focus on compressors and steam turbines. The candidate will work with the Rotating Equipment Division (RED) to provide high-level technical consultations/support to company operating facilities, joint ventures, and major projects from early stages through startup. The role includes developing value-adding concepts and technologies to address corporate challenges and enhance operations, and maintaining Saudi Aramco engineering standards and best practices related to rotating equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical consultations for equipment including dynamic (e.g., centrifugal) compressors, positive displacement (e.g., reciprocating) compressors, gearboxes and steam turbines.
- Involve in specifying and reviewing equipment designs, selections, ratings and specifications for new projects including modifications to existing equipment.
- Maintain and improve the company’s standards for compressors, gearboxes and steam turbines.
- Develop/introduce new technologies or innovative ideas to address business challenges or enhance equipment reliability, availability, and performance.
- Lead in developing and recommending solutions to solve plant machinery technical issues.
- Provide work direction, technical advice and mentoring to teammates and junior engineers.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized program; advanced degree preferred.
- At least 20 years of experience in Rotating Equipment with a focus on compressors and steam turbines within refineries, chemical plants, gas plants, or similar facilities.
- Experience in analyzing performance, troubleshooting, selecting, and repair of process gas compressors, steam turbines and gearboxes, including seals, bearings and lube oil systems.
- Detailed knowledge of international codes and API standards related to rotating equipment with emphasis on compressors, steam turbines and gearboxes.
- Category II vibration analyst certification.
- Must submit at least two recent engineering reports or case histories on rotating equipment authored by you, including compressors and steam turbines problems.
