Role Overview
The Compliance Deal Oversight function is responsible for managing, with the others teams withing Compliance Unit, regulatory and reputational risk across all Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) lines of business. The team performs critical control activities to mitigate Market Abuse and Conflicts of Interest, including the management of Information Barriers, Regulatory Insider Lists, and the ongoing operational oversight of the Watch List and Restricted List.
The junior role will support the function lead and senior colleagues in delivering advisory and control activities related to information flows, private-side transactions and the handling of Material Non-Public Information (MNPI), in line with applicable EU regulations. The position offers progressive exposure to interactions with bankers and research analysts, as well as hands-on experience in key compliance processes within an investment banking environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support senior team members in liaising with bankers regarding transactions (es. Corporate finance, equity capital markets, etc.) gathering and analysing relevant information to assist in assessing regulatory and reputational risks.
- Assist in the day-to-day management and maintenance of the Watch List, Insider List and Restricted List, helping to ensure appropriate preventative and detective controls are applied.
- Provide support in advising on information flows, information barriers and inside information considerations, acting as a second-line control under the guidance of senior colleagues.
- Assist with the application of firm-wide restrictions in response to market developments, supporting timely risk mitigation.
- Support the review and documentation of wall crossings, ensuring accurate record-keeping and effective monitoring of information barriers.
- Contribute to the drafting and updating of internal procedures, guidance and training materials, and assist with training activities where required.
- Participate in projects, regulatory reviews or process enhancements (e.g. insider lists, procedure updates, technology initiatives), working alongside senior subject matter experts.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records relating to conflicts of interest, inside information, Watch Lists, Restricted Lists and wall crossings, ensuring the effectiveness of internal controls.
The role involves regular, supervised interaction with stakeholders across the CIB Front Office and Research, providing valuable exposure to senior business areas while developing strong stakeholder management skills.

The role supports the development of judgement and analytical skills through exposure to new and evolving situations.

Essential Skills / Basic Qualifications
- Entry-level experience (including internships) in Compliance, Control Room, Research Compliance or Investment Banking Division Compliance.
- Basic understanding of capital markets activities, conflicts of interest and market abuse frameworks.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail with a structured and analytical mindset.
- Proactive, curious and willing to learn.
