Commissioning Principal Engineer (LNG)

Job Overview:

This position requires an in-depth understanding of concepts, principles, and practices in commissioning, completions, and training, as well as basic knowledge of other functions such as construction and operations & maintenance. The role involves applying industry knowledge to improve effectiveness, provide guidance, and influence processes and policies.

Qualifications:

• Preferably possess a degree or diploma in engineering or equivalent
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in LNG projects
• Pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up experience on at least 2 major EPC projects in the LNG industry
• Ability to communicate technical solutions effectively to engineers and non-engineers
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio
• Strong organizational skills and adaptability to various discipline groups
• Clear and positive communication of project requirements and expectations
• Willingness and ability to travel to project locations on a rotational basis
• Proficiency in English; multi-language skills are a plus

Responsibilities:

• Report to the Commissioning Manager and support the Commissioning Lead in preparing home office deliverables
• Collaborate with the Construction group for mechanical completion inspections and acceptance of systems ready for pre-commissioning
• Maintain positive relationships with the project team and client
• Contribute to systemization and boundary mark-ups
• Participate in engineering design reviews including HAZOP, P&ID’s, SIL, and Model reviews
• Develop commissioning activity schedules for pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up phases
• The initial office-based work in Milan for approximately 12 months, followed by site transfer until project handover
• Essential LNG commissioning & start-up experience
• Support commissioning activities such as developing manuals, spares, procedures, and testing systems
• Collaborate with completions, construction, and client teams on site inspections and testing
• Supervise commissioning team personnel, subcontractors, and client staff in executing activities safely and efficiently
• Coordinate with project managers, discipline leads, construction, quality, HSSE, and client representatives
