Commissioning Principal Engineer (LNG)

Job Overview:
This position requires in-depth understanding of concepts, principles and practices in commissioning, completions and training as well as basic knowledge of other functions, such as construction and operations & maintenance. Applies understanding of the industry to improve effectiveness, provide guidance and influence processes and policies.
Essential Qualifications and Education:
* Bachelor Degree or equivalent in Engineering
* 10+ yrs in oil and gas with major contractor or consultant
* Preferably possess a degree or diploma or equivalent in engineering
* Have a minimum of 5 years' experience in LNG projects
* Have pre-commissioning, commissioning and start-up experience on at least 2 major EPC projects in the LNG industry
* Able to effectively communicate technical solutions and concepts to other engineers and non-engineers
* Must have good computer software skills in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio
* Must have good organizational skills and be adaptable to the needs of various discipline groups
* Must have the ability to assess and communicate project requirements and expectations in a clear defined, positive and productive manner
* Willing and able to travel to Project JV location on assignments and to Project Site location on rotational basis
* Proficiency in English, Multi-Language skills a plus

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
* Reports to the Commissioning Manager and provides support to the Commissioning Lead in the preparation of home office deliverables
* At site the Commissioning Engineer works closely with the Construction group for mechanical completion inspections and accepting the completed systems as deemed ready for pre-commissioning
* Work collaboratively within the Project team and with Client to maintain positive relationships
* Participates in the development of systemization and system boundary mark-ups
* Participates in engineering design reviews as assigned by the Commissioning Manager including HAZOP, P&ID's, SIL and Model reviews
* Participates in the development of commissioning activity schedules for pre-commissioning, commissioning and start-up
* The position is initially office based for around 12 months in Milan before transferring to Site until handover of a two train LNG facility at RFSU
* LNG commissioning & start-up experience essential
* Required to support the commissioning team with performing any of the following activities as a minimum
o Operating & Maintenance Manuals development.
o Commissioning and Start-up Spares development.
o First Fills and Consumables development.
o Commissioning and Start-Up Procedures.
o Discipline Equipment system checks and tests.
o Function testing of mechanical, electrical and instrument systems.
o Participate in Commissioning, Start-Up and Performance Testing.
o Resolve operational and maintenance issues during Commissioning, Start-Up and Performance Tests.
* Interfaces heavily with the completions team, construction and Client personnel regarding all aspects of site inspections and testing for pre-commissioning, commissioning and start-up activities.
* Supervises the assigned commissioning team personnel, subcontractors and Client personnel in the execution of pre-commissioning, commissioning and start-up activities in a safe, efficient and successful manner
* Liaise With: Project Commissioning Manager, Discipline Lead Engineers, Project Engineers, Construction/Fabrication team, Quality, HSSE and Client designated representatives as required
