Experteer Overview

In this role you will lead the Commissioning Department to translate business and production priorities into actionable plans. You will oversee multiple teams, allocate resources, and drive performance improvements to meet financial and operational objectives. You’ll shape policies and processes, coordinating with cross‑functional leaders to ensure safe, efficient project execution. This is an opportunity to influence performance at scale within a long‑established energy services company that supports offshore and nearshore energy projects.

  • Coordinate work across disciplines, offices, fabrication, and construction to meet project requirements
  • Lead technical execution aligned with project business considerations
  • Administer and manage departmental performance appraisals
  • Coordinate training, recruitment, and workforce development
  • Communicate project status and manage hand‑overs between departments and sites
  • Ensure compliance with McDermott policies and procedures
  • Oversee budgeting, staffing, and salary planning for the department
  • Maintain up‑to‑date MPS system and prepare man‑hour estimates
  • Lead improvement initiatives within the department
  • Support project proposals and resource allocations
  • Ensure timely mandatory training and staff development
  • Maintain departmental integrity of work produced
  • Stay aligned with project milestones through the Lead Engineer
  • Liaise with project managers, controls, engineering managers, and construction/fabrication teams

Responsabilità

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering
  • 20+ years of experience with proven leadership
  • Multi‑disciplinary expertise within own discipline and basic knowledge of other functions
  • Strong industry understanding to influence processes and policies
  • Significant management experience
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and other engineering software
  • Ability to assess and communicate project requirements clearly
  • Flexibility for reassignment across departments/sites/offices
  • Proficiency in English; multilingual skills a plus
  • Experience with recruitment, performance management, and training coordination
  • Ability to manage budgets and staffing plans
  • Commitment to training completion and policy enforcement
