Commissioning Engineer (m/f/d)

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced and hands‑on Commissioning Engineer (m/f/d) to join our team. In this role, you will perform commissioning, troubleshooting, and field service activities across shipyards and vessels in operation. A typical day may involve boarding a vessel at the shipyard, completing commissioning tasks, interacting with customers on‑site, and finalizing documentation for handover.

While the role requires a high degree of independence, you will work closely with Site Management, Technical Office, and other internal teams to ensure successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Read, interpret, and accurately modify electrical drawings
• Perform commissioning and field service activities according to work plans
• Conduct troubleshooting, testing, fine‑tuning, and adjustments on automation equipment
• Independently perform complex repairs and full system overhauls when required
• Execute installation and pre‑commissioning checks
• Carry out commissioning tasks and hand over completed systems to customers and shipyards
• Lead and coordinate assigned teams during on‑site work
• Communicate directly with customers throughout execution
• Monitor and report progress internally and externally
• Prepare and submit comprehensive service reports
• Ensure compliance with NACOS Marine QHSE procedures and customer site regulations
• Advise customers and promote relevant NACOS solutions and upgrades

Key Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience working onboard cruise or merchant vessels
• Solid understanding of automation systems
• Hands‑on experience with Platinum, XD‑DNA, or Lyngsø Automation systems (preferred)
• Ability to read, understand, and update electrical drawings
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to perform commissioning tasks independently
• Customer‑focused mindset with strong communication skills
• Ability to lead small teams during on‑site execution
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally
• Strong commitment to quality, safety, and professional conduct
