Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced and hands‑on Commissioning Engineer (m/f/d) to join our team. In this role, you will perform commissioning, troubleshooting, and field service activities across shipyards and vessels in operation. A typical day may involve boarding a vessel at the shipyard, completing commissioning tasks, interacting with customers on‑site, and finalizing documentation for handover.
While the role requires a high degree of independence, you will work closely with Site Management, Technical Office, and other internal teams to ensure successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Read, interpret, and accurately modify electrical drawings
- Perform commissioning and field service activities according to work plans
- Conduct troubleshooting, testing, fine‑tuning, and adjustments on automation equipment
- Independently perform complex repairs and full system overhauls when required
- Execute installation and pre‑commissioning checks
- Carry out commissioning tasks and hand over completed systems to customers and shipyards
- Lead and coordinate assigned teams during on‑site work
- Communicate directly with customers throughout execution
- Monitor and report progress internally and externally
- Prepare and submit comprehensive service reports
- Ensure compliance with NACOS Marine QHSE procedures and customer site regulations
- Advise customers and promote relevant NACOS solutions and upgrades
Key Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience working onboard cruise or merchant vessels
- Solid understanding of automation systems
- Hands‑on experience with Platinum, XD‑DNA, or Lyngsø Automation systems (preferred)
- Ability to read, understand, and update electrical drawings
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to perform commissioning tasks independently
- Customer‑focused mindset with strong communication skills
- Ability to lead small teams during on‑site execution
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally
- Strong commitment to quality, safety, and professional conduct
