Commercial Support Intern – Agrifood Certification Services
Location: Palermo, Italy – Italy Food Certification Division (RINA)
Mission
The Commercial Support Advisor plays a role in the administrative aspects of customer interactions, offer management, and basic pricing. This position supports the commercial team's efforts to provide efficient and effective services to clients while ensuring accurate record‑keeping and contributing to marketing intelligence efforts.
Key Accountabilities
- Customer Data Management – Support the maintenance of accurate and updated customer records within the company database, with specific reference to Agrifood clients and related services.
- Assist in ensuring completeness and reliability of customer and commercial data, in line with internal procedures.
- Offer Preparation and Pricing Support – Support the preparation and issuance of commercial offers related to Agrifood certification, assurance, and related services. Assist in collecting and organizing the information required for quotation development.
- Commercial and Administrative Support – Provide operational and administrative support in the management of Agrifood certification service activities, document preparation, data entry, opportunity tracking, and overall management of commercial information.
- Customer Communication – Support communications with clients regarding offers, service information, pricing elements, and general commercial updates. Ensure timely and professional follow‑up on customer requests.
- Data Analysis and Reporting – Assist in the analysis of sales data, customer portfolio information, and market trends; support the preparation of reports and dashboards for pipeline monitoring, customer activity, and commercial performance.
- Documentation and Record Keeping – Support maintenance of accurate records related to customer interactions, offers, and service requests. Assist in documenting quotations, pricing details and other relevant information.
- Credit Control and Recovery Support – Monitor outstanding receivables and aging reports, assist in follow‑up activities for overdue payments in line with company guidelines.
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Management or Agriculture/Agronomy/Food Technology.
Qualifications
- Initial experience (internships, projects, extracurricular activities) in customer data management, sales support or administrative roles, preferably within the Agrifood sector.
- Strong interest in commercial support activities and a career within the Agrifood sector.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Familiarity with CRM systems and digital tools.
- Good organizational skills, ability to manage multiple tasks accurately in a dynamic environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling customer data and commercial documentation.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, ability to interact professionally with clients and stakeholders.
- Analytical mindset to support reporting, data analysis and commercial monitoring.
- Basic understanding of administrative processes and document management.
- Awareness of confidentiality, data protection and proper record‑keeping principles.
- Interest in Agrifood supply chains, certification, sustainability, and related services.
- Familiarity with RINA services – advantage.
- Proactive attitude, learning agility, motivation to grow in a commercial and customer-oriented role.
