WHO WE ARE

Alberami S.r.l. Società Benefit is the company behind AgroEcology_Italy, Italy's first and only agricultural carbon removal project operating under an ICROA-endorsed standard (VM0042 / International Carbon Registry). We manage 500+ farmers across 20,000+ hectares and are scaling to 250,000 hectares within three years — in Italy and, through our newly acquired Spanish subsidiary, across the Mediterranean.

We are at a pivotal scale-up moment: closing a capital raise, with public finance in activation, and building the commercial infrastructure to match our technical and regulatory capabilities. The carbon credits and environmental attributes we generate are compliance-grade, ICROA-endorsed, and priced at a premium — spanning both insetting and offsetting structures. Our buyers are corporations under SBTi-FLAG, CSRD and BVCM obligations — and the cooperatives and agri-food industrials that can bring us the supply scale we need are already within reach.

THE ROLE

This is a commercial closing role. You will own the deal-making layer that sits between our institutional outreach (which opens doors) and our senior BD (which manages global buyer relationships). Your market is Italy — cooperatives, consortia, agri-food intermediaries and industrial food companies with sustainability obligations and an agricultural supply chain. Spain is on your horizon as the pipeline develops.

The profile we are looking for is rare: someone who is equally at home negotiating a supply aggregation agreement with a national farmers’ association and sitting across from the sustainability procurement director of a large agri-food business to architect a multi-year insetting structure. You need to speak both languages — and you need to close in both rooms. Critically, you are comfortable structuring and closing Beyond Value Chain Mitigation (BVCM) deals: voluntary corporate climate action that goes beyond a company’s own supply chain footprint, and which represents a significant and growing portion of our demand pipeline.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Supply Side — Cooperative & Intermediary Recruitment

— Identify, approach and close supply aggregation agreements with agricultural cooperatives, consortia and commodity intermediaries across Italy, prioritising regions with high olive grove and arable land concentration.

— Negotiate the commercial terms of farmer onboarding frameworks at the aggregate level, working in tandem with the Head of Institutional Outreach who provides the scientific and institutional credibility layer.

— Own the pipeline from first conversation through to signed framework agreement — with full accountability for conversion rate and hectare targets.— Go beyond the signature: take an active role in the implementation phase by upskilling the intermediary’s farmer-facing staff on the enrolment process, carbon farming practices and data collection requirements. You have skin in the game after the deal is closed — delivery quality is part of your mandate.

Demand Side — Corporate Insetting & Offsetting

— Target and close insetting and offsetting partnerships with any corporate buyer — Italian, European or global — that has a supply chain footprint, sourcing interest or operational base in Italy or Spain. Agri-food industrials (pasta, olive oil, wine, fresh produce) are the natural starting point, but the mandate extends to any sector with agricultural Scope 3 exposure or voluntary BVCM ambitions anchored in Mediterranean agriculture.

— Translate the client's Scope 3 agricultural exposure into a structured insetting proposal, working with the CSO on deal architecture for complex or high-value transactions.

— Close offsetting agreements with Italian and Spanish corporates seeking verified carbon removal credits, coordinating with the Senior BD on intermediary and trading desk relationships.

— Manage local P&L for each deal — margin, volume, delivery timeline — and flag upsell and renewal opportunities within your portfolio.

WHO YOU ARE

Non-negotiable

— You have closed deals. Not only managed pipelines. Supply agreements, sustainability partnerships, offtake structures. We will ask for specifics.

— You are fluent in the Italian agricultural cooperative ecosystem: how decisions are made, who the gatekeepers are, what motivates a cooperative president to say yes.

— You understand the full corporate sustainability landscape: Scope 3, SBTi-FLAG, CSRD, insetting vs. offsetting, BVCM, net-zero target architecture, industrial externalities and the UN SDG framework. You do not need any of it explained to you — you use this language to build credibility with the buyer, not to signal that you have done the reading.

— You are Italian mother tongue. Professional English is required. Spanish is a strong advantage.

Background that works

— Agri-food commodity trading or brokerage, with exposure to cooperative supply chains.

— Sustainability or procurement role within a large Italian food group, with supply chain decarbonisation responsibility.

— Agricultural consultancy or advisory with a commercial track record (not just advisory delivery).

— Carbon markets or ESG advisory with a strong Italian agri-food client base.

What does not work

— Pure sustainability communication or ESG reporting profiles — we need a closer, not a narrator.

— Account management backgrounds without commercial origination experience.

— Profiles without direct exposure to the Italian cooperative or agri-food industrial world.

WHAT WE OFFER

— Compensation structured around performance: base retainer (P.IVA) + deal-based commission — calibrated to make strong performance significantly more valuable than the retainer alone.

— Access to a compliance-grade, premium-priced product in a market with structural demand growth — SBTi-FLAG and CSRD are regulatory tailwinds, not marketing narratives.

— A lean, high-calibre team: fractional CSO with C-suite closing experience, institutional outreach with CREA/MASAF credibility, MRV infrastructure already operational in two countries.

— Direct line to the CEO and meaningful input into commercial strategy as the role scales.

— Work for Equity participation (vesting over 3 years) once the role converts to permanent — aligning long-term upside with company growth.
