NAVIRIS is seeking a Combat System Senior Engineer in Genoa (Italy).

NAVIRIS is a joint venture between Fincantieri and Naval Group, aiming to excel in shipbuilding and marine industries.

The partnership consolidates the shared goals of the two companies to innovate and meet customer needs in a competitive market.

Naviris has a history of successful collaborations, including the Horizon air defense destroyer program and the FREMM multi-mission frigate program.

Activities and Responsibilities

The Senior Engineer will coordinate the design of the Combat System for Italian surface ships, collaborating with partners such as the Combat System Integrator, CS Equipment Suppliers, and shipyard teams.

They will contribute technically to industrial requirements allocation, oversee system development, ensure information reliability, and participate in verification and validation processes.

In later project phases, they will represent Naviris during integration, testing, and acceptance activities.

The engineer will manage studies related to safety, performance, EMC/EMI, and contribute to waiver assessments.

Regular reporting on progress and challenges will be required, and the engineer will serve as the main interface with the customer regarding CS discussions.

They will also assist in preparing ECPs, bids, and contractual amendments related to studies, procurement, and production.

Requirements

  • Understanding of standards like ISO 15288 or Mil-Std 499, adapted to naval engineering environments.

Profile

  • Master's degree in electronics or related field, with proven experience as a CS Senior Engineer or specialist in complex Combat System development. Additional qualifications in systems engineering are a plus.
  • Knowledge of combat ships, their systems, and functional chains is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in English is essential; Italian language skills are a plus.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, listening, and teamwork skills are necessary.
  • Ability to work in multinational teams and manage subcontracted studies effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills for presenting technical information clearly to customers, aligned with other team members.
