About the Role

As a Colosseum Check-In Host, you are the first point of contact for our guests. You'll be responsible for welcoming visitors, organizing groups on the spot with their assigned guide, and sending them off equipped with radios and ready to go and ensuring every guest's experience starts on a positive and organized note. This is a fast-paced, guest-facing role that requires someone who thrives under pressure and takes initiative.


Key Responsibilities
  • Greet and check in guests at the designated meeting point ahead of scheduled tour times
  • Manage guest lists, and handle last-minute changes or no-shows
  • Communicate clearly with guests regarding tour logistics, meeting points, and expectations
  • Coordinate with tour guides and operations team to ensure smooth handoffs and on-time departures
  • Tackle issues on the spot (booking discrepancies, late arrivals, guest concerns) calmly and efficiently
  • Monitor and report daily attendance, incidents, and any operational issues
  • Maintain an organized and professional check-in area at all times
  • Assist with upselling additional experiences or products when appropriate


Availability & Schedule
  • This is a freelance, high-season position : candidates must have open availability throughout the week
  • Minimum commitment of 2 weekends per month required
  • Shifts rotate between morning and afternoon. Flexibility across both is essential
  • Holiday availability is expected


Requirements
  • Languages: Fluent English and Spanish required;
    Italian is a strong plus
  • Experience in customer service, hospitality, tourism, or a similar guest-facing role
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills — warm, approachable, and professional
  • Highly proactive and solution-oriented;
    able to think on your feet and make quick decisions
  • Calm and effective under pressure, especially during peak hours and high-volume periods
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask without losing focus
  • Punctual, reliable, and comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Familiarity with booking platforms and basic tech tools (smartphones, tablets, apps)
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and early mornings as required
