For our Headquarter in Milan we are looking for a Cloud & Infrastructure Engineer (AWS) – Lead to support and evolve our AWS cloud and infrastructure platforms in an international environment. The role combines hands-on cloud engineering, operational ownership, automation and vendor coordination , ensuring reliability, scalability, and continuous improvement of AWS cloud services, connectivity, and operational processes. The position leads technical execution across AWS operations, advanced networking, FinOps cost governance, and infrastructure automation.
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure, Cloud & DevOps Leadership
- Own and support AWS cloud and infrastructure operations.
- Lead AWS infrastructure operations and continuous improvement.L
- Contribute to DevOps operational practices with strong focus on automation and repeatable workflows.
- Design, implement and maintain automation workflows using Ansible and scripting.
- Ensure reliability and resilience of AWS cloud infrastructure and connectivity.
Monitoring, Reliability & Operations
- Operate and improve monitoring coverage for AWS/cloud infrastructure (e.g. PRTG , Instana ).
- Ensure incident, problem, and change processes are applied consistently.
- Drive operational improvements and reduction of recurring incidents.
Vendor, Project & Stakeholder Management
- Manage relationships with external providers (DevOps, monitoring, infrastructure).
- Lead service reviews (SAL / service review meetings) with vendors.
- Contribute to and lead infrastructure and cloud-related projects.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, translating business needs into technical roadmaps.
Advanced Networking
- Site-to-site (P2P) VPN configuration and operations
- Client VPN configuration and operations
- VPC peering and inter-VPC connectivity
- Advanced routing and traffic segmentation
FinOps & Cloud Cost Governance
- Tagging strategy enforcement
- Cost allocation/reporting support
- Optimization initiatives (rightsizing, storage lifecycle, Savings Plans support)
Automation & Infrastructure-as-Code
- Identify and implement automation opportunities across infrastructure operations
- Maintain automation workflows, handle exceptions, and improve reliability
- Maintain documentation/runbooks for automated processes
Required Skills & Experience
Must Have
- Degree in related matters
- Fluent English (spoken and written) .
- Proven experience in a senior cloud/infrastructure role with strong hands-on technical ownership and accountability, acting as a technical reference point.
- Strong AWS expertise (mandatory).
- Hands-on experience automation and Infrastructure-as-Code mindset (Ansible, scripting, repeatable workflows)..
- Strong background in Linux and infrastructure fundamentals.
- Solid understanding of ITSM processes (incident, problem, change).
- Experience working with ITSM tools (preference for Jira ).
- Experience managing vendors and service level agreements (SLAs / SALs) .
- Strong experience with advanced networking , including:
- site-to-site VPN (P2P)
- client VPN
- VPC peering
- advanced routing / segmentation
- Demonstrated experience supporting FinOps / cloud cost governance activities (tagging, reporting, optimization actions).
Nice to Have
- Experience with identity and access platforms (e.g., One Identity ) as exposure only.Certifications:
- FinOps Practitioner (or equivalent)
- AWS Solutions Architect Associate (or equivalent)
- ITIL v3 or v4 Foundation
- Agile / Project Management certifications
- Experience in organizations aligned with ISO 20000 / ISO 27001 standards.
- Exposure to Microsoft Azure.
- Exposure to CI/CD platforms, container platforms, or OpenShift.
