Freelance Opportunity - Cloud DevOps Engineer (Remote - Italy)

Contract Duration: 4 months (renewable)

Location: Italy / Full Remote

Start Date: ASAP

Languages Required: Italian and English (fluent)

We are currently seeking experienced Freelance Cloud & DevOps Engineers to join a new implementation project for a leading IT organization in Italy. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a high-impact cloud transformation initiative within a dynamic and collaborative environment.

Your Responsibilities

• Design and implement infrastructure architectures on major cloud providers (Azure preferred, also AWS)
• Manage and govern cloud accounts (AWS/Azure)
• Administer Linux operating systems
• Implement cloud security using native services and third-party tools
• Manage networking configurations (subnetting, VPN setup, AWS Transit Gateway)
• Orchestrate containers (Docker, AWS ECS, etc.)
• Install and manage Kubernetes clusters (EKS, AKS, GKE)
• Develop Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
• Set up and manage CI/CD pipelines and release processes
• Deploy serverless solutions (API Gateway, Lambda, Fargate, etc.)
• Monitor infrastructure using cloud-native and third-party tools
• Configure and manage web servers (Nginx, Apache – virtual hosts, SSL certificates)
• Develop and maintain Bash scripts

Must-Have Technical Skills

Minimum 2–3+ years of strong hands-on experience in at least three key areas:

• Cloud infrastructure architecture design (Azure preferred)
• Kubernetes cluster installation and administration (EKS, AKS, GKE)
• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation)

Soft Skills & Profile

• Strong collaboration and teamwork abilities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Analytical and solution-oriented mindset
• Proactive knowledge-sharing attitude
• Experience leading small teams is a plus
• Fluent Italian and English (mandatory)
