Cloud & Backend Engineer – Python (GCP)

Project description

We are looking for a strong Python Developer with database expertise to join a banking project. The role focuses on backend development, infrastructure as code, and cloud-based solutions within a regulated financial environment.

The ideal candidate combines hands-on development skills with solid database knowledge and understands the quality, security, and compliance standards required in enterprise banking systems.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop backend services using Python
• Build and maintain infrastructure using Terraform
• Develop and operate cloud-native solutions on GCP (Google Cloud Platform)
• Work with relational databases (design, optimization, query tuning)
• Implement secure, scalable, and maintainable solutions
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automation processes
• Collaborate with architects, DevOps engineers, and business stakeholders
• Ensure compliance with banking security and regulatory standards
• Support production systems and participate in incident analysis when needed

Mandatory Skills Description:

• Strong experience with Python (backend development, APIs, services)
• Hands-on experience with Terraform (Infrastructure as Code)
• Practical experience with GCP
• Solid understanding of database systems and data modeling
• Experience working in enterprise or regulated environments
• Understanding of secure coding practices
• Experience with Git-based workflows and CI/CD pipelines

Nice-to-Have Skills Description:

• Advanced SQL skills (query optimization, performance tuning)
• Experience with API-based Customer Search services or similar backend systems
• Knowledge of RESTful API design principles
• Experience with monitoring/logging tools
• Experience in banking or financial services domain
• German language skills (beneficial but not mandatory)
• German Language
