Client Portfolio Manager (Milan Office) – Office Based

We are looking for a Client Portfolio Manager in our Milan Office with proven dealing, trading and account management experience. The successful candidate will manage a portfolio of clients taking responsibility for trading account set up, relationship management and deal execution.

What You’ll Do as a Client Portfolio Manager

  • Manage a portfolio of corporate clients, executing a range of different products, including FX hedging, lending, payments and cash management. Upsell Ebury’s broad product capabilities, ensuring a best‑in‑class client proposition.
  • Collaborate with a large, successful sales team to assist in business origination. Understand clients’ business environments, strategies, and industry to provide the best solution for their situation using Ebury's large product suite.
  • Know and understand the competition’s capabilities and gaps to better position Ebury’s banking solutions.
  • Deliver on specific KPIs, including repeat and new business revenues, reducing client churn, upselling and cross‑selling multiple relevant products and increasing wallet‑share.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through client meetings, confidently and professionally presenting ideas, proposals, and updates to clients.
  • Expand existing business and provide feedback to technology and product managers.
  • Originate new business via networking with existing clients for business referrals.

What You’ll Need

  • Strong financial services experience in a sales or relationship management role. An established network of contacts is a distinct advantage.
  • Experience of working in an established FX institution and/or commercial bank, or selling other financial instruments to SMEs and corporate clients.
  • Solid understanding of relevant compliance requirements.
  • Academic background in Business or Finance is a plus.
  • Exceptional communication skills, able to win commitment and buy‑in.
  • Sophisticated technical ability; statistical/fundamental analysis & risk management practices.
  • Proven record of identifying and pursuing new business opportunities (upselling, cross‑selling, new client acquisition).
  • Skilled negotiator, able to build and leverage relationships at senior levels.
  • Fluency in Italian and strong business‑level English.
