As Civil and Structural Engineer , you will support the Operational Leader and the Head of Department , and be part of the Energy Carriers Business line within upstream and downstream projects as well as green technology plants.
How can you support us? Here below your responsibilities.
- Design of steel structures, reinforced concrete structures and foundation works; develop studies and calculation notes for reinforced concrete, piling works, steel structures (including connection details), and steel modules (including pre-service design); prepare design specifications for steel and reinforced concrete structures.
- Review contract project technical documentation, requirements and technical documentation developed by engineering suppliers.
- Perform detailed structural checks with specific spreadsheets.
- Provide design alternatives aimed at preventing or mitigating quantity increases during project execution.
- Support the Discipline Lead in technical interface with client and other internal and external interfaces.
- Set up and execute assigned engineering activities such as detail design, verification and studies relevant to any engineering topic associated to the Civil and Structural discipline, pursuing objectives of sound engineering and design optimisation in terms of cost, fabrication ease and safety.
- Provide remote and/or on-site support to the engineering activities at site and/or at fabrication yard.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends, codes, and technologies, and apply them to optimise project outcomes.
What are we looking for?
Education: Master’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Civil and Structural Engineering or a similar qualification.
Experience: Minimum 3 years (preferably 5 years) of experience in Civil and Structural design, preferably in the petrochemical or oil & gas industry.
Technical Skills:
- Proven experience of at least 5 years in the structural design of steel and concrete structures and foundations related to Energy and Industrial plants.
- Knowledge of international structural design codes (e.g., US codes, British Standards and Eurocodes).
- Experience in the design of modular steel structures, including in-place and pre-service analysis; knowledge of codes, standards and design guidelines for module design (e.g., API, ISO, DNV, etc.).
- Experience in coordination of subcontractor activities and support to site activity, as well as management of interface with client, vendors, fabrication yards and other technical departments.
IT Skills:
- Advanced familiarity with the Microsoft Office package.
- Advanced knowledge of software and tools for structural design (such as SAP2000, STAAD PRO, SACS and similar).
- Basic knowledge of tools related to 2D drawing and 3D modeling (e.g., CAD, TEKLA STRUCTURES).
- Knowledge of IdeaStatica is preferred.
