The Opportunity
We are seeking a senior Cisco High Touch Engineer (Red Badge) to support mission-critical networks within the Italian Public Sector , working closely with central government bodies, ministries, and public institutions.
This is a high-impact, trusted-advisor role embedded directly within the customer environment, operating at the highest tier of Cisco engineering excellence. You will work alongside Cisco Sales, CX, and Engineering teams while becoming a core extension of the customer’s IT organization.
Your Role
- Act as the primary technical authority for complex, business-critical network environments
- Provide proactive and reactive high-touch engineering support
- Lead SEV-1 / SEV-2 incidents and resolve chronic, large-scale network issues
- Influence network architecture, upgrades, and long-term optimization
- Build strong relationships with customer engineers, architects, and leadership
- Drive escalations with Cisco TAC and global engineering teams
Technical Expertise
- Deep hands-on experience with enterprise or service provider IP networks
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, OSPF, IS-IS, BGP, MPLS, Segment Routing, QoS, IPv6
- Cisco Routing & Switching (IOS-XE, IOS-XR, Catalyst, Nexus, WAN )
- Exposure to automation and modern operations (Python, Ansible, APIs – preferred)
Experience & Certifications
- 7–15+ years in senior network engineering, consulting, or high-level support roles
- Proven experience supporting large, complex, mission-critical networks
- CCNP required , CCIE strongly preferred
