Join to apply for the Chief of Staff to the CEO role at Bending Spoons

At Bending Spoons, we’re striving to build one of the all-time great companies. We aim to serve a huge number of customers, foster team member growth, operate at unparalleled levels of effectiveness, create value for shareowners, and uphold high ethical standards.

Our strategy involves acquiring digital businesses with untapped potential, leveraging our platform—comprising expertise, technologies, data, brand, talents, and culture—and reinvesting proceeds to strengthen our platform and acquire new businesses. We combine capital allocation with hands-on operational involvement.

Working at Bending Spoons offers an opportunity for talented, driven, and collaborative individuals to learn, make an impact, and rapidly advance their careers. We promise a high-growth environment for such candidates.

Initially, after an intensive 6- to 12-month training as a product, growth, or hiring manager, you’ll directly support the CEO or another executive in decision-making, with responsibilities varying based on your assigned area. The work is highly hands-on and involves tackling day-to-day challenges.

Recent graduates and early-career professionals with outstanding credentials are especially encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Leading end-to-end execution of business projects, such as due diligence and integration planning for acquisitions, collaborating with Legal, Finance, HR, and Product teams.
  • Supporting decision-making through preparation of materials and follow-ups, including drafting investor updates and managing metrics and team highlights.
  • Representing the CEO in meetings, attending on their behalf, asking questions, summarizing outcomes, and flagging decisions.
  • Facilitating team focus on priorities by creating business reviews, coordinating inputs, and highlighting performance issues.
  • Engaging in tasks like financial planning, hiring strategies, and team operations, including identifying talent gaps and proposing solutions.
  • Managing the executive’s calendar, travel arrangements, and communications, such as optimizing focus blocks, preparing briefing documents, and ghostwriting emails.

What we look for:

  • Strong reasoning ability, problem-solving skills, first-principles thinking, sharp structuring of ideas, bias awareness, and attention to critical details.
  • High drive, ambition, initiative, effort, tenacity, responsibility, and a high personal standards bar.
  • Team spirit, generosity, support for the best ideas, reliability, honesty, and transparency.
  • Proficiency in English—reading, writing, and speaking.

What we offer:

  • Small, result-oriented, autonomous teams with some of the brightest professionals in the field.
  • Exceptional growth opportunities, with early-career Spooners leading significant projects and products worth hundreds of millions of dollars.
  • Competitive salary, equity options at a discounted price, and benefits including flexible hours, remote work, learning support, health insurance, relocation packages, parental support, and annual retreats.

Contract & Location:

Permanent or fixed-term, full-time position based in Milan (Italy) or London (UK).

Selection process:

Initial screening, followed by challenging problem-solving tests, then multiple interviews. We set high standards and may keep the role open for months. We value talent over experience; if you’re interested and believe you can excel, apply.

Bending Spoons is an equal opportunity employer and provides accommodations for applicants with disabilities upon request.

Before applying:

If you’ve applied before without success, wait at least a year before reapplying. The environment is demanding; we seek high standards and significant commitment. We recommend working from our Milan office for initial months to absorb our culture and build trust, supported by travel and accommodation assistance. Afterwards, remote work from Milan, London, or approved locations is possible.

If you’re excited about this role and ready to give your best, we look forward to your application.
