About the Role

The Chief Compliance Officer is responsible for ensuring that our fleet operates in full compliance with all relevant regulations, including STCW and GHESS. This involves managing training programs, monitoring crew compliance, and communicating with stakeholders to ensure seamless operations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement training programs to meet regulatory requirements
• Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with STCW and GHESS
• Collaborate with external partners to maintain knowledge of emerging regulations and industry best practices
• Communicate effectively with crew members, shore-based teams, and senior management to ensure understanding of compliance requirements
• Identify and mitigate risks related to non-compliance
• Stay up-to-date on changes to regulatory requirements and industry standards
• Lead a team of training specialists to support compliance efforts

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as maritime studies or business administration
• Minimum 5 years of experience in maritime compliance and training management
• Strong knowledge of STCW and GHESS regulations, as well as international maritime law
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks accordingly
• Experience leading a team of professionals to achieve compliance goals
