Alias-Executive for an international big pharmaceutical company (generic drugs) is looking for a:

Chief Accountant (salary cap 65K)

In this exciting and highly visible role, you will make an impact by:

1. Being responsible for the timely preparation of local statutory financial statements.
2. Managing a team of 3-4 accountants and senior accountants.
3. Controlling and maintaining monthly balance sheet reconciliations and reviews with management and auditors.
4. Coordinating SOX testing, internal and external audits for assigned entities.
5. Coordinating the centralized transfer pricing process in cooperation with the Corporate Accounting group.
6. Preparing VAT returns and maintaining/improving VAT compliance processes.
7. Leading and developing the team, coaching, and making decisions related to talent management, hiring, performance, and disciplinary actions.
8. Driving continuous improvement and problem solving within the Accounting Function.
9. Supporting the team during overflow or escalations.
10. Participating in the EMEA Finance Leadership Team to improve finance processes and team development.
11. Performing ad hoc duties as required.

Qualifications:

To succeed in this role, the candidate should have:

1. A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration.
2. At least 5-6 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting within an international organization or experience with a Big4 in accounting or audit.
3. Excellent knowledge of local statutory/tax regulations and compliance across multiple EMEA jurisdictions.
4. A genuine interest in developing people and experience managing small teams.
5. A 'hands-on' work style, comfortable with details, and able to switch between tactical and strategic issues.
6. The ability to meet tight deadlines, handle fluctuating workloads, and provide accurate data.
7. Thoroughness, attention to detail, and composure under pressure.
8. Strong communication and presentation skills.
9. Confidence, enthusiasm, and teamwork orientation.
