Role Overview


The Category Manager, Sportswear is responsible for setting the strategic direction and long-term vision of the Sportswear category, ensuring sustainable growth and commercial consistency across seasons. The role provides category leadership by defining priorities, performance targets, and merchandising guidelines, acting as a strategic reference point between brand positioning and business execution.


Key Responsibilities

  • Define and drive the Sportswear category strategy with a strong focus on commercial performance and growth.
  • Lead seasonal assortment planning and category architecture in collaboration with Design, Product, and Merchandising teams.
  • Own pricing, margin targets, and volume objectives for the category.
  • Partner with Planning and Sales teams to optimize sell-in and sell-through.
  • Analyze market trends, consumer insights, and performance data to inform strategic category decisions.


Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in Category Management, Merchandising, or Product roles within sportswear.
  • Strong commercial mindset and solid understanding of merchandising dynamics.
  • Proven ability to translate brand direction into commercially successful assortments.
  • Fluent in English and Italian.
