Overview

Do you have a passion for working with individuals with disabilities and special needs? Consider being a Camp Counselor with Easterseals Florida Camp Challenge! Our fully accessible camp provides adolescents and adults with disabilities and special needs a getaway filled with laughter, friendship and fun! Our camp counselors are a big part of making that happen.

Responsibilities

• Assist campers in recreational activities such as sports, nature, the challenge course, arts and crafts, swimming, talent night, and making s'mores at campfires.
• Assist with the personal care needs of some of our campers, such as helping with meals, bathing, dressing, toileting, sensory needs, and managing difficult behaviors.

Summer Camp Schedule

• Sunday, June 7 through Saturday, June 13, 2026 (Summer Staff Training Week)
• Sunday, June 14 through Saturday, June 20, 2026 (Summer Session 1)
• Sunday, June 21 through Friday, July 3, 2026 (Summer Session 2)
• Sunday, July 5 through Saturday, July 11, 2026 (Summer Session 3)
• Sunday, July 12 through Saturday, July 18, 2026 (Summer Session 4)

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, or one to three months related experience and/or training, and great communication skills
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Compassion, energy, and creativity
• Ability to assist in the physical care of campers including lifting and transferring
• CPR and First Aid are preferred; training will be provided
• Ability to work as a member of a team
• Being ready and able to work one of the hardest, yet one of the most rewarding, jobs in your life
