Call for one technology expert – EP3 – Institute of Mechanical Intelligence

Offer Description

The primary aim of the Institute of Mechanical Intelligence of the Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies, born from the union of the research groups of the Laboratory of Perceptual Robotics (PERCRO) with the Advanced Sensoristics group, is the design and implementation of hardware and software artificial systems and the study of their future interaction with humans.
As part of its research activities, the Institute of Mechanical Intelligence requires a figure for the coordination of the design activities for the construction of an autonomous vehicle for railway line inspections, as well as environmental inspection and railway track defect inspection modules; the figure being sought shall also be responsible for the identification of activities with high scientific value, the supervision of design and development activities for motorised embedded systems, the drafting of technical specifications, the review of tests in the field of systems, and the drafting and supervision of final technical papers, including programmes, projects and BOMs (Bill of Materials).

Qualifications

Applicants must hold:

• Master’s degree in Automation Engineering.
• At least six years (also if not continuous) of documented job experience in pertinent fields.
• Excellent knowledge of English and good knowledge of Italian.
• In order to work in Italy as public employees, non‑EU citizens need a long‑term residence permit or the status of refugee or otherwise in need of international protection, i.e. the subsidiary protection status pursuant to Legislative Decree n° 251/2007 or the status of family member of the holder of subsidiary protection status present in the Italian national territory pursuant to art. 22, paragraphs 2 and 3 of Legislative Decree n° 251/2007 (specifying in the application the relevant residence permit).
