Offer Description

The primary aim of the Institute of Mechanical Intelligence of the Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies, born from the union of the research groups of the Laboratory of Perceptual Robotics (PERCRO) with the Advanced Sensoristics group, is the design and implementation of hardware and software artificial systems and the study of their future interaction with humans.

As part of its research activities the Institute requires a figure to:

• design software and specifications and implementation system for an autonomous railway inspection vehicle;
• inspect and network components for the vehicle;
• develop motorised embedded systems;
• draft functional and technical specifications;
• perform system development and field testing activities;
• draft system requirements and final technical papers, including programmes, projects and Bill of Materials (BOMs).

Applicants must hold:

• Master’s degree in Automation Engineering.
• At least two years (also if not continuous) of documented job experience in pertinent fields.
• Excellent knowledge of English and good knowledge of Italian.

In order to work in Italy as public employees, non-EU citizens need a long‑term residence permit or the status of refugee or otherwise in need of international protection, i.e. the subsidiary protection status pursuant to Legislative Decree n° 251/2007 or the status of family member of the holder of subsidiary protection status present in the Italian national territory pursuant to art. 22, paragraphs 2 and 3 of Legislative Decree n° 251/2007 (specifying in the application the relevant residence permit).
