Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced CAD Designer with a strong background in naval and offshore structures to create detailed technical drawings and 3D models for ships, offshore platforms, and other complex structures. The role requires proficiency in AutoCAD, Inventor, Navisworks, and Ansys Modeller and close collaboration with engineers and construction teams to ensure designs meet regulatory standards and project specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Drafting: Translate engineering and architectural concepts into precise structural drawings.
- 3D Modeling: Develop detailed 3D models of structural components and systems.
- Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, architects, and construction teams to refine designs.
- Compliance: Ensure all drawings adhere to codes, regulations, and client specifications.
- Documentation: Prepare, update, and maintain technical documentation, including plans and specifications.
- Revisions: Incorporate feedback from project managers and stakeholders.
- Material Calculations: Support engineers by calculating dimensions, weights, and stresses of materials.
- Site Visits: Conduct on-site inspections to gather data, verify measurements, and assess feasibility.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Naval/Offshore Experience: Proven experience in shipbuilding or offshore structures is essential.
- CAD Expertise: Proficiency in AutoCAD, Inventor, Navisworks, and Ansys Modeller.
- Engineering Knowledge: Strong understanding of structural engineering principles, construction methods, and materials.
- Attention to Detail: High level of precision in drafting and modeling.
- Communication Skills: Effective coordination with engineers, architects, and contractors.
- Problem-Solving: Analytical skills to resolve design challenges efficiently.
- Education: Associate degree or certification in drafting, engineering, or related field.
- Languages: Fluency in Italian and English (written and spoken).
