As a Buyer in our Accessories category, with a focus on bags and soft accessories, you are part of a high-performing team and take ownership of a defined portfolio of branded partners.
This maternity cover role requires a Buyer who can operate with immediate autonomy, ensuring continuity of commercial performance while contributing strategically to category development.
You will work closely with the Divisional Lead, Merchandise Planner, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver a relevant, competitive, and commercially successful branded assortment.
Your Responsibilities
- Full ownership and management of a branded accessories portfolio, with a focus on bags and soft accessories.
- Strategic and operational international buying for defined brands and categories.
- Execution and continuous optimization of the brand and category strategy, in line with overall business and commercial objectives.
- Lead and maintain strong, long-term relationships with brand partners, including commercial negotiations and assortment planning.
- Own weekly and monthly financial performance tracking, identifying risks and opportunities to deliver KPIs.
- Full OTB management, including forecasting, intake steering, and in-season trade decisions.
- Ensure smooth execution of the end-to-end buying and order process, providing guidance and day-to-day support to Buyer Assistants where required.
- Deliver regular competitive and market analysis, monitoring trends, pricing, and assortment gaps within the accessories landscape.
- Act as a key stakeholder across logistics, campaign planning, merchandising, and marketing, ensuring alignment and timely execution.
- Represent the business at international trade fairs and supplier meetings, with openness to regular travel.
- Degree in business administration or a comparable business-related education.
- 5+ years of professional experience in international buying, preferably within accessories, bags, or fashion retail.
- Proven experience managing branded assortments and supplier portfolios
- Strong negotiation skills and experience managing brand partnerships.
- Solid commercial and analytical skills, with strong understanding of KPIs, financial reporting, and OTB management.
- Confident user of BI reporting tools and MS Office, particularly Excel.
- Ability to work autonomously with a hands-on, solution-oriented mindset.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, comfortable engaging with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Fluent written and spoken business English.
- Willingness to travel internationally at least twice a month
