Overview

Buyer – Animal Health

The Senior Buyer – Animal Health is responsible for ensuring the efficient, compliant, and cost‑effective procurement of veterinary pharmaceutical products. The role plays a key part in managing strategic supplier relationships, identifying new sourcing opportunities, and guaranteeing continuity of supply in line with regulatory, quality, and business requirements. Operating within a regulated pharmaceutical supply chain, the position acts as a strategic interface between external partners and internal stakeholders, contributing to operational excellence and sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and further develop the existing supplier portfolio for veterinary pharmaceutical products, ensuring reliability, quality, and performance.
  • Conduct supplier scouting and qualification, identifying new sourcing opportunities aligned with business needs and regulatory standards.
  • Oversee the procurement and replenishment of Animal Health products, ensuring timely availability and supply continuity.
  • Lead negotiation activities with suppliers, including pricing, commercial terms, lead times, and service levels.
  • Issue and manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and alignment with internal procedures.
  • Monitor supplier performance through KPIs and service level metrics, driving continuous improvement and corrective actions where required.
  • Act as a key interface with internal teams (Quality, Regulatory Affairs, Logistics, Planning, Sales, Finance), ensuring alignment across the supply chain.
  • Support compliance with GxP, GDP, and relevant veterinary pharmaceutical regulations.
  • Contribute to risk management activities related to suppliers, market shortages, and supply disruptions.

Education & Experience

  • Degree in Economics, Supply Chain, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Veterinary Sciences, or related fields.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in procurement or sourcing within the pharmaceutical, healthcare, or animal health sector.
  • Proven experience in managing suppliers in a regulated environment.

Technical Skills

  • Familiarity with veterinary pharmaceutical products and regulated supply chains.
  • Good knowledge of procurement processes, supplier management, and contract negotiation.
  • Experience working with ERP systems and procurement tools.
  • Ability to monitor and analyze procurement KPIs.
