Company Description
Homeby is reshaping property management solutions in Italy, aiming to set a new standard in the alternative accommodations space. We deliver services that empower property owners and agencies to optimize performance, improve operations, and maximize profits.
Within just two years since launch, we operate our full-management services across multiple Italian cities and offer our Booking Manager plan nationwide. We are a young but highly experienced team that is implementing tech-enabled best practices in this fast-growing industry.
As Homeby continues to expand, we are looking to strengthen our commercial team with someone who can help property owners understand the market, evaluate different management solutions, and identify the model that best fits their needs.
Role Description
Homeby is looking for an ambitious, articulate, and highly motivated Business Development & Sales Manager (Junior) to join our team in Milan.
This is a junior position designed for someone with limited professional experience but a clear interest in sales, business development, real estate, and hospitality.
You will work closely with the founders and the commercial team, managing relationships with prospective property owners from the initial contact through the evaluation, proposal, and contracting stages.
Our sales approach is strongly consultative.
The objective is not simply to close a contract as quickly as possible. We aim to understand each property, the owner’s objectives, the local market, and the available management options in order to identify the most suitable solution together with the client.
For this reason, success in this role requires more than confidence and persuasion. It requires credibility, preparation, curiosity, and a strong command of the subject matter.
During the first weeks and months, continuous learning will be a fundamental part of the role. You will be expected to develop a strong understanding of short- and medium-term rentals, property economics, distribution channels, pricing, operations, regulations, and the different management models offered by Homeby.
We are not looking for an aggressive or transactional salesperson. We are looking for someone who can grow into a trusted advisor for property owners.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Managing inbound leads generated through Homeby’s marketing and commercial channels.
• Conducting initial calls and meetings with prospective property owners to understand their property, objectives, expectations, and operational needs.
• Meeting prospective clients in person when required, either alongside senior members of the team or independently as experience and confidence grow.
• Explaining Homeby’s Full Management and Booking Manager services in a clear, accurate, and compelling way.
• Developing a strong understanding of each property and helping prospective clients evaluate the most appropriate management solution.
• Preparing commercial proposals, property evaluations, revenue estimates, and supporting materials.
• Presenting financial and operational information in a structured and understandable manner.
• Following prospective clients throughout the decision-making process and maintaining clear, timely, and professional communication.
• Managing follow-ups and keeping the sales pipeline organized and up to date.
• Updating CRM systems, commercial documentation, and internal reporting tools.
• Coordinating with the Onboarding, Operations, Revenue Management, and Finance teams to ensure accurate proposals and a smooth transition after contract signing.
• Supporting the continuous improvement of sales materials, scripts, processes, and reporting.
• Developing a deep knowledge of the alternative accommodation, property management, and real estate markets.
• Contributing to partnerships and other business development initiatives as the role evolves.
This role combines sales, analysis, relationship management, real estate, and consulting. It offers the opportunity to build strong commercial foundations while developing specialist knowledge in a fast-growing industry.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree completed or close to completion in Business Administration, Economics, Management, Marketing, Real Estate, Hospitality, Engineering, Law, or a related field.
• At least two previous internships or equivalent experiences in sales, business development, account management, consulting, customer success, real estate, or related commercial roles.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong ability to listen, ask relevant questions, and understand client needs.
• Clear interest in consultative sales and in developing strong subject-matter expertise.
• Strong willingness to learn and continuously improve, particularly during the first months of the role.
• Ability to communicate complex financial, operational, or commercial concepts in a simple and credible way.
• Structured and analytical mindset.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple leads, meetings, follow-ups, and priorities simultaneously.
• Confidence in speaking with property owners, professionals, and business partners.
• Ability to work effectively with defined processes, sales frameworks, templates, and CRM systems.
• Comfortable working with numbers, commercial proposals, and basic financial models.
• Availability for a few business trips per month, generally day trips, to meet prospective clients together with senior team members or independently.
• Self-starter attitude with the ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
• Fluency in Italian and good proficiency in English. Other languages are a plus.
• Interest in real estate, hospitality, property management, technology, or entrepreneurship is strongly preferred.
Compensation
The annual gross salary for this position ranges from €25,000 to €32,000, depending on experience, skills, and overall seniority.
Our compensation packages are competitive and designed to reflect both the candidate’s starting level and their potential for growth within the company.
The role is intended as a long-term opportunity, with increasing responsibility and career progression based on performance, subject-matter expertise, commercial results, and contribution to the development of Homeby’s sales function.
