We are currently recruiting for a

  • Business Development Manager (M / F / d) Rapid DNA Platform

Location: Remote EMEA region / Home-Office based

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  1. Build specific regional strategy for market penetration and channel strategy
  2. Build funnel of opportunities and deliver on revenue plans and forecast
  3. Build specific country / account strategies to grow rapid portfolio
  4. Work closely with Thermo Fisher Governmental Relationships and Public Relationships teams to promote rapid technologies and build plans around legislation expansion / acceptance of rapid
  5. Maintain close contact with HID rapid DNA Accounts, investigate their business needs, and serve as the main contact for the organization, focusing on law enforcement and security / military segments
  6. Gather, analyze, and deliver information from the field to develop strategies and products suited to the Rapid DNA market
  7. Interact with executives, major customers, and senior management to establish strategic plans and objectives
  8. Collaborate with HID core team, product managers, R&D, and marketing on forensic rapid DNA strategy
  9. Demonstrate and practice strategic selling excellence
  10. Provide accurate forecasts, report lost orders, and gather competitive information
  11. Ensure efficient use of resources to increase business
  12. Coordinate issues with key clients across sales, service, support, marketing, and finance
  13. Develop Rapid DNA channel partner network
  14. Extensive travel across EMEA (and sometimes wider) is required

Key to Success

  • Several years of sales experience with governmental accounts and over 5 years managing channel partners
  • Experience in the forensic market and highly technical environments is mandatory
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in biology or related sciences
  • Superior problem-solving and interpersonal skills
  • Strong communication, training, and presentation skills
  • Ability to lead activities while maintaining a big-picture view
  • Relevant business or corporate development experience
  • Scientific or strategic marketing background and business development experience
  • Excellent problem evaluation and strategic decision-making skills
  • Proven ability in high-level negotiations
  • Experience in tender preparation and management
  • Desirable: Knowledge of law enforcement, security, or military markets
  • Working Conditions

    • Valid Driver’s License required
    • Ability to work safely with chemicals and hazardous materials
    • Work in both office and lab environments
    • Frequent travel up to 75%
